This is a continuation of my last post! We left Huntsville around 10 and drove to Birmingham instead of home – because we were going to the Art of Disney Costume exhibit at the Birmingham Museum of Art!
I took a ton of photos and I’m not going to post everything here – HERE is the whole gallery!
Disclaimer… I was really excited and moving a little too fast with photos, my camera kept trying to adjust in the low light of the exhibit. I ended up with a lot of blurry photos or photos of a blurry floor. I’ve culled those from the gallery; I’m sorry if there aren’t more pics of certain costumes, in some case I only took a few and some of them were blurry, so I ended up with even less.
Admittedly I did mostly focus on costumes I had a personal interest in possibly making one day!
Some of the costumes were behind glass, though thankfully most weren’t. The ones behind glass have a lot of reflections unfortunately. Did my best.
Anyone interested in having the full size photos as reference costume builds, just let me know I’ll be glad to send ’em.
The star of the show. The one I really wanted to see. She’s to die for. I was surprised at how SHORT (not small, we knew it was small!) it was; I thought Lilly James was taller.
I just love the silhouette of this.
I didn’t love the movie version of Into the Woods but I did love their gold Cinderella gown.
OUAT Cinderella
Brandy Cinderella!
Fairy Godmother! This is another one I lost my cool over because I wanted to make this years ago but couldn’t find fabric. Now I have great references if I ever come back to it.
The live action Cinderella pink dress
The Wonderland Queens were unfortunately behind glass and it made it really difficult to get pics of the Red Queen. The details on her costume were amazing.
White Queen was at a better angle for less reflections.
Aladdin
Live action Jasmine was beautiful
Prince Charming from Live Action Cinderella – loved the textures of this.
Live action Peter Pan and Hook were also behind glass.
Hook was impossible to get a decent photo of because of the reflections from the windows across from them. This was the best I got.
Jafar
Lady Tremaine
The Stepsisters
Live action Maleficent – I love this much more in person than I did on screen! It’s stunning!
OUAT Hook
OUAT Regina
The Santa Clause
Uhhhh I don’t remember, Prince of Persia I think? I should’ve taken pics of the descriptions so I could remember who some of these guy costumes were.
Enchanted Prince Edward!
The purple Enchanted dress. Wish they’d had one of the other ones.
Queen Narissa from Enchanted!! I nearly fell over. I’ve loved this costume since the movie came out and seeing it in person was SO EXCITING!
Haunted Mansion
Prince of Persia
Jack Frost from the Santa Clause
JACK!
Time from the Wonderland movies – this was pretty neat
Cruella – another one behind glass
Barbosa
We think this was from Dumbo.
Sugar Plum Fairy! This was STUNNING in person, I loved all the colors and textures of each of the skirt swags.
The Black Hole
OUAT Cruella
Emma Stone Cruella – I really liked this movie, was glad to see something from it here!
Tomorrowland
Wrinkle in Time
I THINK this was Wolf Wilkins from Mary Poppins Returns?
The White Witch!
Letha from Return from Witch Mountain
The Hocus Pocus 2 versions of our fav witches. I really liked how these were the same but different, loved all the fabrics and details.
Into the Woods Witch
OUAT Witch
Into the Woods Wolf
Into the Woods Little Red
I was OBSESSED with the Wrinkle in Time costumes before the movie came out and desperately wanted to make Reese Witherspoon’s outfit. But I was stymied by a lack of references, and then the movie came out and just disappeared. I was SO excited to see these. I took a ton of pics, maybe one day š
I just love these colours
(Look I can’t remember which was which so I’m just going to call them by the actress LOL) Oprah’s skirt was covered in crystals!! So neat!
I’m obsessed with the vertical stacking on Mindy Kaling’s skirt.
Dumbo
Dumbo
Dumbo (I never saw this so sorry, don’t know the character names)
Sorcerer’s Apprecentice
Sorcerer’s Apprecentice
Mary Poppins Returns
Live action Gaston and Beast
National Treasure
Glinda from Oz the Great and Powerful
More Oz
The live TV BATB village dress
The live action Belle ballgown. Didn’t take a lot of pics of this because I already saw it in another exhibit a couple of years ago. Also, I don’t like it š
Tomorrowland
Return to Oz
Nutcracker
Nutcracker
